So I’m confused what all 4 of the pins are for. Would someone be generous enough to share with me how to wire this in line to dim all my accessories? This switch also has the option that if you roll the dimmer wheel up, the dome light turns on. There are 4 pins on the rear of the dimmer switch. Also try hitting the dash a few time to see if it might be a loose connector. Even if the fuse for those lights looks good, replace it. I’ve read one this string that the negative side is how the dimming works on this switch. 115 Answers Re: Dash lights dont work If none of the dash lights work, its most likely a fuse. I would like to use the dimmer switch to dim everything but the headlights. It just runs in a daisy chain from one device to the next once it comes off the head light switch (positive side obviously). Would someone be able to share with me how to wire up this dimmer switch for my boat gauges? Currently when the lights come on, I have all of my accessory lights (stereo lights, gauge lights, switch illumination, cup holder lights) running off the positive wire from the light switch. So I found the two pins that have continuity. Thank You.ĭoes anyone have a final answer to this? I’m attempting to use a 4runner 4 pin dimmer switch in my boat. I’m starting this new thread to hopefully “unfog” the question with correct, straight to the point answers. They were helpful in pointing me in the right direction but, as they went on the information was confused with conjecture, guesses, and comments that had little to do with the original topic. I’ve done due diligence and read through a few threads that touched on my specific question. My Question In the picture below, are these the wires and correct polarity to provide power to the “dash” lights in our new switches? I’m looking for someone who has actually spliced into these wires and has firsthand experience with success in doing so. ![]() I’m also aware that the ground side of the circuit is what dims the light. I know which terminals on the switch will accomplish this. I want one of the two LEDS in the switch to light up when the headlights are on and dim with the other dash lights. The brand of switches I’m using is irrelevant. I'm going to be testing out another charger when I get a chance to see if I can narrow it down.I’m installing aftermarket dash switches to send trigger power to lighting relays. I don't know if it's the charger or her phone or if either is really the issue, but it only happens when she's charging her phone. Plugged her phone back in and it started up again. She unplugged her phone and it stopped doing it. For her it's the tire slip indicator with beeping and then the beeping stops and the VSC lights come on. She's driving it again and it happened again. I drove it for a couple days and couldn't get it to happen. Slip Indicator Depending on the vehicle, a buzzer (intermittent) may sound to indicate that VSC is operating. The indicator light stops flashing after the registered key has been inserted into the engine switch to indicate that the system has been canceled. This is going to sound dumb, but do you have your phone charging in the cigarette lighter? ![]() Heres what Ive tried so far: Put the 4wd mode selector to 4Lo. The first slower than the second, but both flashing. I can't find anything on the forums where people have experienced similar issues. The Multi-terrain Select Indicator and Four-wheel drive indicator lights are flashing. Then all of a sudden on a morning startup, the lights stay on. I've gone weeks with no light issues at all. UPDATE: still experiencing this same issue.
